Top SchoolFred Chasen is a Staff Software Engineer in Los Angeles with 13 years of experience building publishing technologies, browser rendering, and full-stack web platforms. He has led content rendering at scale—improving PDF Largest Content Paint from over 6s to under 2.5s for workloads serving ~100M monthly views—and now contributes to core browser features at Mozilla. Equally comfortable in low-level JavaScript engines, mobile WebView integrations, and backend pipelines (Ruby, Python, C++), he maintains and advances open-source projects like Epub.js and React Native web components. A W3C publishing working group contributor and former industry standards representative, he blends practical production optimizations with standards-minded design. Notably, his work spans both user-facing UI telemetry and behind-the-scenes recovery and delivery systems, reflecting a rare mix of frontend polish and systems reliability.
