Senior🎓
Top SchoolFriedrich Striewski is a geoinformatics-focused software engineer and researcher with eight years of experience building full-stack spatial applications and teaching applied geomatics. He develops production mobile and web apps, search services and learning-app frameworks—projects include a Swiss cultural heritage explorer, the Geoharvester geoservices search engine and an app-builder for educators—combining UX-minded frontend work with backend and cloud tooling. Previously he contributed to climate and early-warning platforms at KNMI and digital-asset frontends at Bynder, bringing TypeScript/React, Python, Java and containerized deployments into research and operational settings. Trained in geography and GIS, he pairs field-hardened knowledge from Himalayan and polar expeditions with software craftsmanship to solve real-world spatial problems. Based in Bern, he now applies academic rigor to practical geovisualization challenges and prefers GitLab for his code hosting.
