Gary Ang is a founder and principal who blends AI research, quantitative finance and regulatory risk management across public and private sectors. He led AI supervision at the Monetary Authority of Singapore, producing the city-state’s first AI risk guidelines for finance after a decade overseeing reserves investment and model risk work on Basel reforms. A PhD in computer science and multiple masters in financial and knowledge engineering underpin his publications on multimodal and networked deep learning for finance, and he teaches AI and ML to audiences from central bankers to healthcare workers. He runs Quaintitative, delivering AI governance training and advisory, and contributes module content for the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance. Beyond technical depth, he’s also a commissioned watercolor artist and occasional children’s book contributor, a reminder his interests bridge quantitative rigor and creative communication. He’s open to collaborations, talks and advisory work on AI governance, strategy and risk in finance.
