Guillaume Salagnac is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at INSA Lyon with over a decade of experience in research and teaching. His work focuses on compilation, static analysis, operating systems and virtual machines, computer architecture, and memory management—particularly garbage collection for real-time and embedded Java. He completed a PhD on automated memory management and followed with a postdoc on high-level programming for sensor networks, giving him a rare blend of systems-level rigor and applied distributed programming insight. As an educator he has taught across architecture, algorithms, and compilation, shaping curricula while maintaining an active research agenda. Based in France, he combines deep theoretical knowledge with practical solutions for constrained and real-time environments. Colleagues value his ability to translate low-level runtime problems into analyzable compiler and VM techniques.
