Haimeng Zhao is a PhD student in physics with a strong foundation in mathematics, currently researching at the intersection of quantum information, statistics, and machine learning. With nine years of research experience and positions at Caltech and Google Quantum AI, he focuses on both foundational theory and practical (quantum) ML applications for physics. A Tsinghua summa cum laude alumnus who also studied at EPFL, he blends rigorous analytical training with hands-on experimentation in quantum systems. Haimeng is especially interested in how information-theoretic and statistical principles can bridge quantum foundations and scalable learning algorithms. Based in Pasadena, he brings a rare combination of deep theoretical insight and experience inside leading quantum research teams. Colleagues describe him as driven by curiosity about the universe and adept at translating that curiosity into cross-disciplinary research.
