Herman Van Boeijen is a seasoned UI/UX designer and technical artist with over 11 years of experience creating interfaces, icons, animations and design systems for games and applications. Based in Amsterdam, he runs his own studio nimbling since 2005 and currently shapes client projects at Media Choice after a senior UI role at Vertigo Games. He blends visual craft—character animation, particle effects and iconography—with engineering-minded tooling, publishing popular Illustrator scripts and an Adobe SSR panel. At Squla he introduced Sketch and Figma, built and maintained the design system, and animated mascots and UI transitions, demonstrating a rare mix of product-level UX leadership and hands-on motion design. Known among peers for scripting and automation, he loves geeking out on Illustrator scripts that speed production while preserving aesthetic detail.
