Hyung-kyu Choi is a veteran systems engineer and startup leader with over a decade of experience building and optimizing execution environments for VMs, NPUs, and blockchains. He co-founded DSRV and has held CTO/COO roles driving validator infrastructure, consensus and profit-center operations while previously architecting Klaytn’s consensus and EVM execution at Ground X. His deep compiler and runtime expertise spans JIT code generation, register allocation across ARM/SPARC/Intel, memory allocators and garbage collectors, and NPU inference compilers from work at Samsung and earlier embedded-Java systems. He combines rigorous academic training (PhD-level research in compilers and memory management) with hands-on production delivery, and is now extending that low-level performance focus into EVM and WebAssembly execution for blockchain ecosystems. An understated strength is his history of enabling platform portability—bringing .NET Core, V8/JSC improvements and toolchain support to new architectures and devices.
