Summary
👤
Senior🎓
Top SchoolIlari Mäkimattila is a pragmatic Lead Software Architect based in Zurich with over two decades of hands-on experience and 13 years in senior engineering and leadership roles building cloud-native, high-throughput web platforms. He combines full-stack polyglot coding (Python, Rust, TypeScript, C++, Go, etc.) with architecture and DevOps craft—most recently migrating a monolith to Kubernetes, cutting operating costs by up to 40% and introducing continuous delivery and observability. Comfortable wearing multiple hats, he still codes daily while leading teams, recruiting, and working directly with product and customers. He has a strong interest in IoT, low-latency systems and optimizing engineering performance, demonstrated by shipping drone fleet management, event platforms and payment integrations across his career. A founder-turned-architect, he brings entrepreneurial pragmatism from building products solo to scaling them for production. Colleagues value him for turning fuzzy requirements into automated, maintainable delivery pipelines that save hours of repetitive work.
