Summary
👤
Senior🎓
Top SchoolIlya Esin is a Senior Infrastructure Engineer with over 16 years in industry and a dozen-plus years focused on SRE and DevOps, currently shaping infrastructure at Workato from his base in Berlin. He brings deep expertise across the stack—from Linux kernel internals and HPC to Kubernetes, Terraform, and highly available web architectures—paired with a track record of debugging, tuning, and disaster recovery for large-scale systems. Ilya’s background includes leading migrations (FreeBSD→Linux, Mesos→Kubernetes), cost and security optimizations in AWS, and hands-on database rescue work (Vertica/MySQL) that solved production emergencies others deemed hopeless. Comfortable mentoring teams and improving IaC, monitoring, and operational playbooks, he combines methodical engineering with calm, patient leadership under pressure. Not obviously visible from titles alone, he also has roots in HPC and bespoke kernel/PBS patching, giving him an uncommon depth for performance-sensitive infrastructure work.
