Top SchoolIsao Hara is a business development leader with 11 years of focused experience in robotics, open innovation, and strategic alliances, currently directing the Robotics business group at NTT WEST from Osaka. He previously led SoftBank’s Open Innovation Program and held business development roles in the US, building a network across Silicon Valley and surfacing startups with global market potential. Isao combines market-facing negotiation skills with product and service planning experience dating back to IPTV and VOD launches in the early 2000s, giving him a rare end-to-end perspective from concept to commercial rollout. He has repeatedly translated emerging media and video trends into partnerships and offerings, and is comfortable operating at the intersection of corporate strategy and startup innovation. Colleagues would describe him as a pragmatic strategist who pairs bold sourcing of disruptive ideas with hands-on execution to scale them inside large organizations. Although primarily business-focused, his long track record in telecom and media product launches implies deep domain fluency that informs his robotics and innovation initiatives.
