Ismael Moreira
Software Engineer
Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal
Summary
👤
SeniorIsmael Moreira is a software engineer with nine years' experience specializing in C/C++, low-level infrastructure, and language internals, focused on performance-critical systems and memory management. Based in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, he engineers close-to-the-metal solutions spanning kernel drivers, allocators, syscalls, and toolchains under tight constraints. He documents deep technical explorations on his Portuguese blog—often translated and shared on Medium or Hacker News—covering everything from RF modulation and physical signals to user-space abstractions. His work blends hands-on systems design with practical, production-minded analysis, revealing real-world trade-offs rather than academic theory. As a mentor at Catapulta.club and an active mobile developer, he pairs teaching with applied engineering. Colleagues value his ability to translate low-level complexity into maintainable interfaces and tooling.
