Summary
Ivan Huang is a 4th-year Electrical Engineering student at UC Irvine focused on digital signal processing, communications, and increasingly on FPGA design and ASIC verification. With hands-on experience in SystemVerilog, VHDL, Vivado, Quartus Prime, and ModelSim, he has implemented PC-to-FPGA USB-UART command interfaces, overcurrent fault detection logic, and supported synthesis, PAR, and STA for medical device applications. His internships at Applied Medical and upcoming role at Qualcomm’s GPU PSE program reflect a practical blend of hardware RTL development, PCB validation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. He also brings leadership and teaching experience from directing recruitment and brotherhood for Theta Tau and instructing hands-on electronics courses for 100+ students in UCI’s IEEE lab. Outside engineering he’s curious and adventurous—often exploring new foods or the gym—which informs a pragmatic, people-centered approach to problem solving.
