Senior🎓
Top SchoolJaakko Ahola is a Senior Data Scientist and mathematician with a PhD and nine years of experience turning complex business problems into practical AI, optimisation and simulation solutions across energy, maritime, space, aviation, logistics and bioinformatics. He has built end-to-end ML systems—from forecasting Finland’s hourly electricity prices using weather and grid data to developing cloud-native datalake pipelines with Spark, Docker, Kubernetes and Snowflake—and has run large-scale scientific simulations on Cray supercomputers. Comfortable both in research (multiple peer-reviewed publications on cloud processes) and production engineering, he blends Fortran and high-performance computing with modern Python ML stacks (PyTorch, scikit-learn) and Azure services. Jaakko enjoys creating tangible impact—optimising fleet routing or maximising spacecraft payload value—and is enthusiastic about leading teams, mentoring colleagues, and applying social skills where math and code alone don’t suffice.
