Senior🎓
Top SchoolJaap Schellekens is a Senior Earth Observation and hydrology expert with 12+ years turning satellite data and research-grade models into operational products and commercial solutions. He has led multi-disciplinary teams and high-impact projects—from coordinating the €11.8M eartH2Observe consortium to bringing Planet’s Land Surface Temperature product to market—demonstrating a rare blend of scientific rigor, product management and go-to-market execution. At VanderSat he founded and scaled the water and climate portfolio, launching high-resolution evaporation and operational monitoring services used by Dutch waterboards. Now balancing a senior hydrology role at Deltares with founding KayaDagda, he focuses on environmental monitoring, large-scale satellite processing and ML-driven remote sensing. His background (PhD in Hydrology) and experience with cloud-based, large-data systems make him equally at home in research, product strategy and applied operations.
