Senior🎓
Top SchoolJaco Nel is a pragmatic technology leader and CTO with 14 years of experience architecting cloud-native, event-driven systems for large-scale e-commerce and subscription platforms across emerging markets. He combines hands-on polyglot development (Java, Node.js, Python, Go, .NET, PHP) with strategic leadership—building autonomous agile teams, improving hiring and retention, and moving monoliths to scalable microservices and serverless architectures. His work has enabled high-throughput payment and subscription systems that handled millions of requests per hour and executed zero-downtime migrations of millions of users. Comfortable spanning product, architecture and operations, he has a track record of removing silos, introducing multi-tenancy, and reducing vendor costs via open-source solutions. Based in Western Cape, South Africa, he brings a persistent, action-oriented approach and a habit of continuous learning that elevates both systems and people.
