Top SchoolJacob Johnston is a Senior Platform Engineer with eight years of experience building resilient, scalable infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments, currently focused on platform, SRE, and DevOps roles. He combines deep hands-on expertise in Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and IaC with cloud platforms like AWS and GCP to shorten release cycles and automate operational toil. At The Action Network and Aunt Bertha he led CI/CD and ArgoCD rollouts, multi-cluster Kubernetes operations, and Kafka-on-MSK designs that enabled event-driven architectures and proactive scaling. He’s passionate about developer enablement—creating tooling (including deployment chatbots) and documentation that measurably reduced unplanned work and sped up deployments from days to minutes. Comfortable mentoring and onboarding engineers, Jacob often identifies traffic patterns and capacity needs ahead of demand, blending pragmatic systems engineering with a customer-focused mindset. Based in San Antonio, he enjoys removing headaches for teammates by automating recurring problems and refining processes end-to-end.
