Top SchoolJacob Peddicord is a seasoned software engineer and technical leader with 15 years of experience building developer tools, open source infrastructure, and customer-facing workflows at companies like Amazon, Shopify, and Personio. He combines pragmatic engineering—comfortable in Ruby, TypeScript, Rust, Python, and Go—with a systems mindset that pursues root causes and long-term maintainability while knowing when to move fast. At Amazon he led OSPO engineering and released tools used by other organizations; at Shopify and Personio he shaped growth, onboarding, and data workflows that scaled merchant and trial experiences. He's as comfortable training and public speaking as he is writing code, often bridging product, design, and legal teams to make complex processes approachable. A long-time open source community volunteer, he treats open source as a social ecosystem and designs tools and practices to steer healthy contributor behavior at scale. Based in Seattle, he’s known for taking on the unknown with curiosity and for building developer-facing systems still relied upon years later.
