Summary
🤩
RockstarJacob Z is a cyber security engineer based in the San Francisco Bay Area with a recent MICS from UC Berkeley and hands-on experience across enterprise and startup settings. He brings a practical focus on Security by Design, vulnerability analysis, and remediation prioritization, grounded in OWASP standards and compliance frameworks like SOC2, PCI-DSS, and HIPAA. Comfortable across cloud and systems environments, he pairs Linux/Windows systems administration with tooling in AWS, GitHub Actions, and modern web stacks (React/Next.js, Ruby on Rails). Jacob’s cross-functional communication and teamwork skills help translate security needs into actionable engineering work with product and ops teams. Though early in his career, he blends broad language fluency (Python, Go, TypeScript, Java, C/C++) with a pragmatic, process-oriented approach to reduce risk and improve incident readiness. He’s especially adept at turning compliance requirements into prioritized, operational controls that scale with fast-moving development teams.
