Summary
👤
SeniorJacquiline Train is an engineering team lead with 12 years' experience building and shipping Java and Kotlin services at Ocado Technology, where she now leads the Assortment UK team and is establishing a team from scratch while managing a critical project handover. She began her career developing Ada95 and financial systems in Java, and has steadily progressed from developer to senior engineer and people leader with strong expertise in Agile practices and developer tooling like GitLab and Atlassian products. With a mathematics degree focused on pure and applied topics—including a dissertation on minimal surface theory applied to art and architecture—she brings analytical rigor and creative problem solving to software design. She pairs hands-on technical competence with a passion for coaching: refocusing her career on building developer capability and a positive engineering culture. Outside work she experiments with personal coding projects and volunteers with Code for Life, showing a commitment to community and continuous learning. Colleagues describe her as results-driven, adaptable, and effective at turning complex requirements into practical, maintainable solutions.
