Top SchoolJae Hardie is a Principal Software Developer with 10 years of experience building full-stack JavaScript systems, currently leading platform work at Wealthsimple. He specializes in Node.js, React and GraphQL, and has a strong track record of shaping web architecture, server-side rendering, and high-velocity CI/CD pipelines using Docker and TeamCity. Jae’s background includes architecting production GraphQL services (including an Elixir-backed API at Findmypast) and driving rewrites of search and SPA experiences to improve performance and developer velocity. He combines hands-on implementation with engineering leadership—mentoring teams as a Staff/Principal engineer and shaping deployment practices that enabled daily-per-developer releases. Trained originally in bioinformatics and biotechnology, he brings a data-driven, research mindset to software problems and has experience analysing complex datasets with R, Python and Julia. Based in Old Toronto, he blends practical operational focus with an appetite for tooling and architectural improvements that scale.
