Jaesheung Shin is a Principal Researcher and long-tenured leader at ETRI in South Korea, directing cellular-based IoT and future mobile communications research with a focus on 5G/B5G/6G radio resource scheduling, URLLC, and massive MTC. He holds a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from Penn State and has led national and international R&D projects spanning smart factory Industrial IoT, NTN/NGSO satellite networks, and aerial access for UAVs and HAPs. With over two decades at ETRI, he combines deep protocol and scheduling expertise with program-level management of multidisciplinary teams and cross-border collaborations (notably Korea–Finland URLLC work). Known for bridging theoretical research and applied systems, he is driving cellular solutions for latency-critical and non-terrestrial use cases that few peers tackle end-to-end.
