Jairo Cugliari is an Associate Professor of Statistics at Université Lumière Lyon 2 with over a decade of academic and applied research experience focused on complex data types—functional data, time series, texts and multicriteria datasets. After a Ph.D. from Université Paris-Sud and a postdoc at INRIA collaborating with EDF R&D, he has led and contributed to projects on electricity demand forecasting using nonparametric and spatial-functional methods now tested in industry. His current research explores heterogeneous transfer learning and innovative uses of text data, bridging methodological innovation and practical deployment. Active in scientific outreach, he serves as webmaster of ENBIS and is a member of SFdS, reflecting a commitment to community engagement beyond research. An economist by undergraduate training, he brings interdisciplinary perspective to statistical modeling and energy applications.
