Top SchoolJake Panikulam is a robotics and autonomy entrepreneur with 12 years of hands-on experience spanning localization, calibration, motion planning, and control across domains from autonomous driving and underwater robots to rocketry and spacecraft. As CEO of Main Street Autonomy he leads commercially deployed mapping and sensor-fusion software that combines lidar, camera, and IMU to enable robust localization with or without GPS. Previously he was an early engineering leader at Aurora and built motion planning at Uber, bringing startup-scale product delivery experience alongside deep systems and embedded expertise from roles at SpaceX and Sikorsky. Jake pairs technical leadership with practical implementation—device drivers, GPU computing, avionics, and 3D visualization feature regularly in his toolkit. He’s been featured on the Discovery Channel and is unusually social for an engineer: he invites visitors to Pittsburgh to request a home-cooked dinner two days in advance. His background reflects a blend of research-grade rigor and product-focused execution that ships in the real world.
