Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolJake Pruitt is a seasoned engineering leader with 11 years of experience building and scaling platform and backend systems across Mapbox, Datadog, and Zoī. He co-founded the San Francisco Platform team at Mapbox and later led the founding Synthetics Continuous Testing team at Datadog, shipping roadmaps and systems that handle high-volume, distributed traffic. Now Head of Engineering at Zoī in Paris, he blends hands-on distributed systems expertise—APIs, data pipelines, cloud cost and networking optimization—with a people-first leadership style. Known for digging into gnarly technical problems with relentless positivity, he also focuses on operational resilience and pragmatic tooling to accelerate teams. A bilingual engineer-manager who moved from SF to Paris, he combines startup grit with enterprise-scale experience and a background in both economics and computer science. Expect a leader who cares for “humans and computers” alike and turns long projects into emergent momentum.
