Senior🎓
Top SchoolJames Boehmer is a Staff Software Engineer and seasoned platform leader with 13 years of experience building and operating large-scale, production-grade systems from startup to enterprise. He’s led teams of 60+ engineers to launch consumer streaming products for 150M+ subscribers and has founded and scaled engineering organizations at AI and media startups, hiring and mentoring dozens of engineers. His strengths span interdisciplinary architecture, infrastructure automation, security, Kafka and caching, and hands-on bottom-to-top coding across cloud-native platforms like GCP and Kubernetes. He pairs a growth mindset and curiosity with practical process development and 24x7 operations experience, delivering data governance, search, and recommendation services at scale. Notably, he moved between strategic leadership roles and individual-contributor work—writing early platform APIs, graph search, and ETL pipelines—so he’s comfortable shifting gears between hiring, org design, and deep technical execution. Based in New York, he combines product-facing experience in streaming and sports with a strong track record in information retrieval and knowledge-graph engineering.
