Top SchoolJames Collier is a software engineer with 11 years' experience building scalable, production-grade systems for major consumer platforms from the BBC and Disney+ to Facebook. He’s worked across the full stack—authoring RESTful services, real-time event processing pipelines, and front-end interfaces—while applying functional programming and CI/CD best practices to improve reliability and delivery velocity. At Disney Streaming he led efforts to process millions of playback events in real time to surface actionable product insights, and at the BBC he introduced load-testing, Docker, and AWS automation to harden services used by iPlayer. Now based in London and contributing projects via his portfolio (slakah.github.io), he blends pragmatic engineering with a physics-trained analytical mindset from a BSc in Theoretical Physics. Peers describe him as someone who routinely brings tooling and process improvements that reduce complexity behind the scenes while keeping user experience front of mind.
