Top SchoolJames Dempster is a pragmatic technology leader and Development Team Lead / CTO with 11+ years building high-availability, scalable web applications using PHP7 and Vue.js. He combines hands-on full-stack development with DevOps and DBA responsibilities—designing clustered, replicated MySQL deployments, tuning performance with profiling tools, and operating production servers across datacenter and AWS environments. James has led and mentored small engineering teams, introduced coding standards (PSR12), testing practices (PHPUnit, Codeception, Jest/Mocha, Puppeteer) and ISO 27001-aligned security processes to ship resilient email marketing and analytics platforms. He’s experienced in architecting complex SPAs (including a drag-and-drop workflow builder), microservices, and high-throughput systems that handle peak traffic and large data volumes. Based in Northampton, UK, he blends systems-level thinking with front-end UX focus—frequently hunting performance gains across PHP, MySQL and client-side AJAX flows. An engineer who moves fluidly between coding, operations, and stakeholder-facing planning, he’s as comfortable tuning a database cluster as sketching the next user workflow.
