Senior🎓
Top SchoolJames Holt is a data scientist with a Ph.D. in geophysics and roughly a decade of experience translating research-grade seismology into production ML solutions across logistics, agriculture, and insurance. After publishing earthquake magnitude and magnitude-scale calibration research during a University of Utah postdoc, he self-taught applied data science skills and built end-to-end pipelines at Bayer, Coyote Logistics (UPS), and now USAA. He combines strong statistical foundations from academic research with practical experience deploying models and visualizations that drive operational decisions in 3PL and crop-yield optimization. Based in Dallas, he favors principled, reproducible workflows and enjoys tackling domain-specific signal-processing problems that benefit from both geophysical insight and machine learning.
