Top SchoolJames Martin is a Staff Software Engineer based in Adelaide with 12 years of hands-on experience building reliable software across startups and large product teams. Currently at GitHub since 2015, he brings deep practical knowledge of scalable engineering practices and developer-focused platforms. His background spans senior engineering roles at REA Group, Split It, and Roomz, plus early testing and analytics experience at Campaign Monitor and Analog Analytics, giving him a strong foundation in quality, observability, and data-driven development. Trained in computer science at the University of Portsmouth, he combines rigorous engineering with a curiosity for how products are used in the real world. Colleagues describe him as a steady technical leader who mentors teams while still shipping code. A subtle but telling detail: his long tenure at GitHub signals expertise in developer workflows and large-scale collaboration rather than just individual feature delivery.
