Top SchoolJames Mehorter is a Principal Software Engineer with 14+ years of experience building high-performance subscription platforms, backend services, and scalable publishing systems. He blends hands-on coding (Kotlin, Spring Boot, PHP/Laravel, React/TypeScript) with technical leadership, mentoring engineers and establishing testing and CI/CD practices that dramatically reduced bugs and enabled zero-downtime migrations. At Penske Media he architected systems protecting $20M+ in annual revenue, built APIs serving 65M+ monthly requests, and eliminated hundreds of redundant components via a polymorphic React system. He applies AI-augmented development pragmatically to unblock teams and accelerate complex frontend work, and now focuses on fire-safety compliance platforms at Life Safety Inspection Vault. Known for tackling high-stakes migrations and for creating reusable patterns, he pairs deep implementation fluency with an emphasis on developer productivity and operational reliability.
