Top SchoolJames Muspratt is a senior lead designer and multidisciplinary web developer with 11 years of professional experience crafting research-driven websites and visual systems for institutions and businesses. Based in Arlington, MA, he has progressed through roles at Upstatement since 2015 and now leads design efforts as Senior Lead Designer, blending hands-on UI development with strategic digital experience work. His background spans independent studio practice, adjunct teaching in web design, and museum and academic commissions, giving him a keen sense for typographic rigor and user-centered information design. Trained with an MFA from Yale and a BA in Philosophy and Ancient Greek from Swarthmore (with study at Oxford), he brings a scholarly sensibility to problem framing and a habit of rigorous research that informs his design decisions. An understated strength is his ability to move between print, motion, and interactive projects, making him as comfortable writing a WordPress template or CSS-driven responsive layout as designing exhibition graphics.
