Top SchoolJames Rantanen is a Principal iOS Engineer with 13 years focused on building polished iOS and Apple platform experiences since 2009, currently leading design system and accessibility work at Stitch Fix. He drives cross-platform UX consistency by implementing design systems that support both SwiftUI and UIKit, and has retrofitted large apps with Dynamic Type, custom SF Symbols, and other accessibility patterns. Known for rescuing legacy codebases, he improves reliability, test suites, and CI performance while mentoring engineers and advising product teams. His background spans consumer-facing apps featured by Apple, solo indie work (Serenitea, an App of the Day), and open-source libraries for safer Objective-C eventing. Comfortable across the stack from Core Animation to Xcode build tuning, he blends deep platform craftsmanship with pragmatic product thinking. Based in Missouri, he brings a mix of hands-on engineering, developer-experience improvements, and long-standing commitment to accessible design.
