Top SchoolJames Sours is a software engineer with nine years of experience and a strong foundation in computer science and mathematics from RPI, currently contributing to AWS after an internship there. He builds backend systems and automation—past projects include a Python/Bash pipeline to ingest telecom call data into an ELK data lake and a C# simulator for ALI databases—demonstrating comfort with REST APIs, Linux tooling, and data pipelines. Based in Washington, D.C., he combines academic curiosity (coauthoring a paper on constructing a conlang) with practical production work, enjoying deep problem-solving and application development. Colleagues can expect a developer who moves fluidly between scripting, systems integration, and protocol-level engineering while pursuing mathematically grounded approaches to design.
