British Columbia, Canada
Summary
👤
SeniorJames Warkentin is a seasoned web application developer and Technical Director with 14 years of focused experience in PHP, Laravel, WordPress and Statamic, leading a digital strategies team in British Columbia. He balances hands-on development—building bespoke WordPress plugins, Laravel apps and hosting solutions—with leadership responsibilities for multiple production sites at Power to Change. As a long-time freelancer he takes on specialized PHP projects and zero-hassle retainers, making complex integrations feel routine for clients. Colleagues rely on his deep practical knowledge of PHP ecosystems and his knack for translating requirements into maintainable, scalable code. An understated strength is his ability to move between agency-style client work and long-term platform stewardship without losing velocity or quality.
