Top SchoolJan Bolting is a Staff Estimation Engineer in Toulouse with 13 years of experience solving hard guidance, navigation and control problems across aerospace and autonomous systems. He specializes in state estimation and precise positioning, from GNSS/IMU/visual odometry integration to GNSS SSR correction service integrity design at Swift Navigation. His background blends academic rigor—a PhD on tight formation flight and multiple postdoctoral projects—with hands-on implementation in C/C++ and control law development for UAVs and spacecraft. Jan favors nonstandard estimation approaches such as set-membership methods for high-availability localization, and has repeatedly moved ideas from simulation and research into validated flight-capable systems.
