Top SchoolJan De Groot is a co-founder and accessibility engineer with 11 years of experience building inclusive mobile, web, and API experiences from the Netherlands. He leads Abra, which combines automated accessibility testing with audits and training, and co-founded Speechlabel and Voertuigexpert to deliver accessible products and large-scale vehicle data services. Jan contributes to the W3C Mobile Accessibility Task Force as a facilitator, translating expert guidance into practical resources for app developers. Trained in Human-Computer Interaction (MSc) and Software Engineering (BSc), he codes across Android, iOS and web stacks with a focus on accessibility-first design and implementation. Beyond consultancy he runs the Appt Foundation to share open knowledge and tooling that lowers the barrier to accessible apps. A detail many miss: he pairs academic HCI rigor with hands-on product launches and even hardware integrations for blind and visually impaired users.
