Top SchoolJan Tomsa is a systems engineer with 13 years of hands-on experience building and operating production infrastructure across broadcasting, research, and streaming domains. He currently supports the AMBER experiment at Univerzita Karlova while running Kubernetes clusters and automated deployments for Česká televize, combining cloud automation (Terraform, Ansible) with GitLab CI/CD. His background spans DevOps and SRE practices—Puppet, Chef, Patroni/Postgres, Prometheus/Grafana—and includes Python development and virtualization from earlier roles. He also teaches programming and algorithms, translating deep technical knowledge into clear instruction. Based in Prague, he pairs curiosity about the latest technologies with practical experience delivering resilient, triggerless DAQ and large-scale media systems. Outside work he’s an avid hiker and photographer, a hobbyist perspective that often surfaces in disciplined, observability-minded engineering.
