Summary

Senior🎓
Top SchoolJan Wagner is a Senior Engineer specializing in logging and observability with nine years of experience building resilient, cloud-native infrastructure at SOFORT (Klarna Group). He architects pragmatic solutions—from a redundant syslog-ng cluster with nginx-based active-passive event handling to migrations of on-prem systems to AWS using EC2 and CloudFront—while also leading global teams to improve internal monitoring through SaaS and bespoke services. Jan built a Vector-based cloud service that securely ingests CloudWatch logs from Kinesis Firehose with robust token authorization, and he has experience filling project manager and engineering manager roles to drive legacy-to-modern transitions. Based in Germany and trained in ICT engineering, he combines hands-on systems design with a user-minded, test-driven approach (he even thinks CSS is more craft than guesswork).
