Top SchoolJared Shumway is a pragmatic backend software engineer with 13 years of experience and a recent role at Stripe, bringing startup and consultancy chops to mission-critical platform work. He has repeatedly driven end-to-end projects—from requirements and design through deployment and validation—delivering scalable backend systems, automated document pipelines, and declarative configuration managers that enabled faster launches and reduced operational load. Jared pairs infrastructure insight with frontend sensibility, having rebuilt responsive web apps and led cross-functional efforts in security-sensitive fintech and EV domains. Known for shipping practical solutions on tight timelines, he also mentors junior engineers and surfaces non-obvious operational risks through monitoring and migration work. Based in Fort Collins, Colorado, he combines hands-on execution with a habit of replacing brittle legacy processes with automated, maintainable systems.
