Summary

Senior🎓
Top SchoolJarid Spokes is a Senior Systems Engineer with 11–12 years’ experience specializing in cloud platforms, SRE, CI/CD, and FinOps, who thrives on ambiguous, cross-cutting technical challenges. At REA Group he built an AWS budget burn-down alerting platform used across 11 portfolios, drove major CI performance gains, and embedded as a Systems Engineering Business Partner for a rotating set of 12 teams. He blends hands-on engineering—Terraform, Lambda, Buildkite optimizations and AWS cost pipelines—with operational consulting, incident triage, and platform tooling. Lately he’s pioneered LLM-assisted engineering workflows (Claude Code agents for security triage, Jira automation and PagerDuty/log correlation), surfacing automation patterns others can extend. Fast at reasoning end-to-end through unfamiliar systems, he excels at practical solutions that improve reliability, visibility, and cost accountability. Based in Victoria, Australia, he prefers roles that mix infrastructure, automation and platform work.
