Top SchoolJavier Contreras is a tech lead and data/software engineer with a decade of experience building production ML and real-time data systems, currently leading engineering at NeuralWorks in Santiago. He helped design and operate the ALeRCE Broker—developing pipelines, APIs and a TensorFlow-based deep learning classifier that labels astronomical alerts from ZTF using only the first two observations. With a Master's in Computer Engineering from USACH and a background as a university teaching assistant and research helper, he blends strong academic rigor with hands-on production delivery. His recent work spans data governance, ETL, cataloging and early experimentation with LLMs for LATAM Airlines partners, showing comfort across both infrastructure and applied ML. Colleagues know him for moving cutting-edge research into reliable services and for an unusual knack for turning sparse, streaming data into actionable models.
