Top SchoolJay Berg is a founder and engineering leader with 12+ years of hands-on experience building low-latency trading systems and blockchain protocols, and over two decades working at the intersection of technology and finance. He founded Sidepit to eliminate execution risk and market manipulation by combining traditional finance rigor with novel on-chain mechanisms for fair price discovery. His background spans Bloomberg analytical systems, quant trading at Fortress, building a Bitcoin matching engine later acquired, and leading permissioned blockchain efforts at VMware. A C++ specialist who has shipped production matching engines, automated trading systems, and open-source blockchain projects (including an on-chain futures exchange and a Proof-of-Skill design), he blends systems performance, cryptography, and protocol design. Based in the Bay Area, he focuses on creating auditable, transparent markets that empower traders of all sizes. An uncommon thread through his work is repeatedly turning quant trading principles into robust, open protocols that scale from prototype to production.
