Jay Merlan
Founder CEO at Amazon
Metro Manila, Philippines
Summary
👤
SeniorJay Merlan is a founder and CEO with two decades of hands-on experience driving digital transformation in architecture, engineering, and construction through BIM, data standards, and design automation. After leading BIM adoption across firms and helping grow UNIFI Labs into an Autodesk acquisition, he spent several years at Amazon shaping asset information management and operational standards for physical retail programs like Amazon Fresh and Just Walk Out. Now based in Metro Manila, he runs multiple ventures including Triple Zero Labs, Ephany, and OpenDefinery, applying product and engineering rigor to AEC challenges. His background blends deep technical delivery (including full-stack web development) with strategic product and go-to-market experience, making him as comfortable shipping tooling as advising enterprise adoption. An uncommon through-line in his career is translating construction realities into scalable software and data practices that survive the messy, real-world lifecycle of buildings and stores.
