Senior🎓
Top SchoolJed Fonner is a seasoned software engineering leader with 15+ years of experience driving cloud-native SaaS, mobile, and big-data initiatives across startup and enterprise settings. He has repeatedly scaled engineering organizations—from early Appian teams to helping grow the department from 60 to 650+ engineers—and currently leads a globally distributed unit building low-latency data services at Capital One. Jed combines hands-on technical judgment (frontend migrations to React/TypeScript, backend RDBMS and key-value systems, AWS deployments) with strong product and people skills, delivering projects that generated over $150M in revenue and markedly improved developer productivity. He’s known for incubating high-impact teams, low attrition through deliberate culture-building, and pragmatic modernization programs (e.g., modularizing monoliths and adopting Spotify-style group organization). A dual CS and Business graduate from Penn/Wharton, he also hosts code on GitLab and maintains an engineer-first approach to operational excellence.
