Jeff Jacob is an experienced application support leader and lifelong software developer with over a decade helping the City of Nanaimo design, maintain, and improve civic services. As Application Support Supervisor (and previously Senior Application Analyst), he combines hands-on web and systems development with operational leadership to keep critical public-sector applications reliable and accessible. Born deaf and facing reading challenges, Jeff prioritizes accessibility and inclusivity, shaping systems that serve all residents more equitably. He brings an unusual blend of technical depth, creative writing and marketing training, and municipal domain expertise, recognized twice with MISA BC’s Spirit of Innovation Award. Beyond work he explores virtual/mixed reality, urban planning and taxation models, and runs a small side-project studio, Phantom Software, to prototype community-focused tools. He also serves on the MISA BC board and coordinates education efforts to spread innovation across municipalities.
