Top SchoolJeff Markey is a Research Engineering Technical Leader with nearly two decades of experience building security-focused data and software systems, currently leading a seven-person team at Cisco on the Secure Cloud Analytics product. He combines hands-on Python and cloud infrastructure work (AWS/GCP/Azure, Terraform, CloudWatch) with research-led threat detection—applying entity modeling and ML to automate endpoint classification and reduce false positives. His background spans industry and government contractors, from Spark-based IOC pipelines at Verizon to behavioral malware models and large-scale network analytics developed with Java/Hadoop and statistical graph techniques. Jeff pairs advanced academic training (dual MS degrees from Johns Hopkins and a Data Science certificate from Harvard Extension) with operational experience supporting enterprise customers and security integrations. A pragmatic engineer who still writes and tests production code, he routinely bridges research, product, and ops to turn novel detection algorithms into reliable, scalable services.
