Senior🎓
Top SchoolJeff Pierce is an independent technical consultant and infrastructure leader with nearly two decades of experience designing and operating large-scale online systems, from early cloud launches to modern Kubernetes platforms. He has led infrastructure and reliability programs at companies like Zendesk, Life360, and Change.org, built custom tooling (including a Cassandra-backed Graphite replacement) and spoken internationally about monitoring and DevOps culture. Comfortable across AWS, GCP, Terraform, Go, and container orchestration, he combines hands-on engineering with team mentorship and architecture leadership. Since 2021 he’s blended consulting with indie game development, creating and leading the Cassabon project while helping studios and startups scale and secure their platforms. Notably, he has driven SOC2 preparations, autoscaling tied to application queues, and complex Elasticsearch migrations in production environments. Based in San Francisco, he’s pursuing Staff+ infrastructure or engineering leadership roles where reliability, observability, and pragmatic automation matter.
