Senior🎓
Top SchoolJeff Pratt is a senior software engineer with 19 years of experience building distributed systems and microservices, currently designing ETL and streaming pipelines at Proofpoint using Scala, Akka, and Kafka Streams. He has a strong functional programming bent—"The λ is life"—and applies that mindset to architect resilient services on Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS from his base in Lehi, Utah. Jeff has led migrations from monoliths to microservices and engineered high-scale web and search platforms at Ancestry, Verisk, and others, often improving performance and startup times substantially. Equally comfortable in backend systems and rich UIs, he blends pragmatic engineering with research experience in cryptography and secure key distribution. Practical, curious, and detail-focused, he brings both deep systems expertise and a taste for elegant, functional design to challenging integration problems.
