Top SchoolJeff Schnitzer is a Principal Software Engineer in San Francisco with 20 years of experience building high-scale web and backend systems, currently leading engineering at Hard Rock Digital. A serial founder and consultant, he has built and scaled profitable marketplaces and print-on-demand platforms, led a small team to nine-figure revenue, and contributed core pieces to platforms like Cloud Foundry and Objectify. His work spans Java, Python, Node.js, mobile backends, real-time matching engines, and high-performance simulation for pharma—demonstrating comfort across systems from OLAP analytics to realtime services. Jeff combines hands-on coding with product-driven entrepreneurship, repeatedly shipping end-to-end solutions that integrate complex third-party ecosystems (Shopify, Etsy, CDN and print partners). Active in the developer community (github: stickfigure, longtime Hacker News presence), he brings a pragmatic, broadly curious mindset—quoting Heinlein, he prefers generalist mastery over narrow specialization. Collected experience ranges from founding startups to CTO and senior roles at EA and other scale-focused companies, showing a rare mix of technical depth and operational leadership.
