Jeff Williams is a veteran security entrepreneur and technologist with more than 25 years of experience building the foundations of modern application security. As founder and CTO of Contrast Security and previously founder/CEO of Aspect Security, he pioneered runtime instrumentation techniques (patented) that power developer-friendly IAST, RASP, SAST, SCA and serverless protections at DevOps speed. He also founded the OWASP Foundation, authored seminal open-source projects like the OWASP Top Ten, WebGoat, ESAPI and ASVS, and grew OWASP into a global nonprofit with hundreds of chapters. Jeff combines deep technical R&D—dating back to high-assurance systems for the Navy and teaching at the NSA—with product-driven leadership that has repeatedly turned security research into widely adopted commercial and community tools. Based in Baltimore, he pairs legal training in IP and cyberlaw with hands-on engineering, a blend that helps him navigate technical, regulatory, and market challenges.
